The Vendée has for many years built dedicated cycle tracks in order to provide safe routes for the regions inhabitants and tourists. In 2005, they increased to 486 kilometres in total. Included are over 90 kilometres of tracks within the region of Luçon, our nearest town. There are a further 6 circuits in the Fontenay Le Comte region, about 25 kilometres from here.

Just to the south of ‘Belle Vue’ is the adjacent department of Charente Maritime, where we benefit from another selection of tracks including one beginning at Esnandes, a small village on the coast, which follows the Atlantic shoreline as far as the bridge leading to the Ile de Ré and across it. The island itself is a cyclists paradise, with tracks and paths traversing the whole of its length.
