The choice of fishing in this part of France is staggering. It is just 100 metres to the nearest canal which is packed with fish, and is ideal for beginners and regular anglers alike, and 5 kilometres from the Sevre Niortaise estuary. We also own a two acre, private carp lake, situated alongside a stretch of small river just 35min drive away.

Belle Vue is situated in the centre of a vast network of canals, rivers and lakes where you can catch netfuls of carp, carrasin, bream, tench, roach, and catfish. Hard fighting, wild fish – true sport. The vast majority of waters are hardly fished, with no wading neccesary and bankside parking.

Our own lake, ‘Mirage Mill’, is set in 6 acres of meadowland, and is well stocked with common, wild and mirror carp, plus other species including the occasional sturgeon, and can be fished on a daily basis. There is also good fishing for big carp on the river Lay.

The local rivers, the Lay, Vendée and Sevre Niortaise, feed the vast riches of the Atlantic Ocean, where anglers can fish for mullet, bass, sea trout and plaice.

If you are staying with us, Trevor will be only too happy to give advice on tackle, baits and Pegs
